THE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
Let the journey begin.
Asia is the largest and most populous continent, covering about 30% of the Earth’s land area and home to more than 4.7 billion people, roughly 60% of the global population. It is traditionally divided into several regions, including East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Western Asia (also known as the Middle East), each with distinct cultures, languages, and historical influences.
Known for its vast diversity, Asia is home to major world economies like China, India, and Japan, as well as iconic landmarks such as the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, and the Arabian Desert, while also being a centre of innovation, rich traditions, and some of the oldest continuous civilisations on Earth.
Oman has a predominantly arid climate, with hot summers and mild winters, especially in coastal areas like Muscat, where temperatures can soar above 35°C in summer. The best time to visit is from October to April, when the weather is cooler and more comfortable, with pleasant temperatures ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the country’s landscapes.
The currency used in Oman is the Omani Rial (OMR), which was introduced in 1970 to replace the Gulf Rupee, previously used under British influence. Initially pegged to the British Pound, the Rial is now pegged to the U.S. Dollar, maintaining one of the highest exchange rates globally due to their stable oil-based economy.
